MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Crystals in semen can be due to prostatitis or due to a diet rich in purines.

In prostatitis, the bacterial infection can cause exudates that then form hard around debris such as bacteria and turn into crystals.

Some individuals have high uric acid levels in blood and this results in the formation of uric acid crystals in the semen. Such individuals are prone to developing gout and need to focus on a low-purine diet.

High-purine foods include meat, fish, beer, alcohol, and breads made with yeast.
Foods low in purine include green leafy vegetables, milk and milk products, breads that are made without yeast, coffee and tea, etc. Foods like white meat and cauliflower, green peas, etc., can also be consumed in moderation along with the low-purine substances.

Do have your blood uric acid levels tested and have a semen analysis done to check for infection so that required antibiotic therapy can be initiated.

Do keep us posted on any further doubts in this regard.
