Cystitis?

I'm female, 32 years old, not overweight, and healthy except for the intestinal and pelvic pains I've been experiencing. I've suffered from intense abdominal pain for the last two years; the pain has progressed (?) from abdominal to pelvic (although I still feel abdominal pain but it's overridden by the pelvic pain). I've made dietary changes; I've been gluten-free for two years, and am limiting coffee and acidic food intake. I've yet to have a colonoscopy but I have had an ultrasound on some organs as well as a vaginal ultrasound. Ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound results were negative. Stool tests were also normal. I feel the pains may be my bladder as urinating does not feel normal (have experienced both stabbing pain and burning during and after urination). Urine has white particles floating in it with a strong odor. I do feel pain through my back; specificially, my lower back and also where my kidneys are. Urinalysis tests have been normal, however. Still, I was  recently given a referral to a urologist which is coming up.

The other day, my primary care physician practically treated me like my pain is all in my head, which really upset me. I'm tired of feeling this pain and getting no answers or help. I completely understand people who live with chronic pain and their frustrations, because it's the same with me. My husband and I have not had sex lately because of my pain. It's so frustrating.

Can anyone help me out, maybe suggest what may be going on with me?

Hi,for your disease, it is likely that you may have interstitial cystitis. The common symptoms of IC are:
Pain in your pelvis or between the vagina and anus in women or between the scrotum and anus in men (perineum)
Chronic pelvic pain
A persistent, urgent need to urinate
Frequent urination, often of small amounts, throughout the day and night
People with severe interstitial cystitis may urinate as often as 60 times a day.
Pain or discomfort while the bladder fills and relief after urinating
Pain during sexual intercourse

If you are still have this pain,  I suggest you can try the herbal therapy like Diuretic and anti-inflammatory pill to get a cure.

Hope it helps you.

Thank you, Doctor,

After feeling more specific pains, I think the issue is gynecological. I am much worse but seeing a gynecologist soon. Thank you for your kind and thoughtful response.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your pain. Possibilities that may need to be considered include GI/ GU related issues such as infections, inflammations growths, masses, urinary tract calculi, neuro-muscular issues, hormonal/ endocrine/ metabolic causes, gynaecological issues etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a urologist to rule out issues related to the urinary tract. If a cause is diagnosed, it can be managed accordingly.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
