Dry Penis

I am not circumcised and my foreskin get very dry and sticks to my penis glands.  I dont think its an STD because it gets better why I take a shower and put water on it.  I have tried to use a different soap but it still gets dry.  I heard that applying lotion will help.  I have some vaseline body and face lotion for dry skin.  My question is applying this lotion on my penis safe? I dont want to do any harm to the sensitive part, my glands. Thank you.

Thank you for your answer doctor.  I used the vaseline face and body lotion but it did not do much if anything its more dry now.  Do you recommend any certain brands of lotion or any specific ingredient that should be contained?

Any moisturises or hand cream will do fine. Rinse off the soap residue well after you wash the area.
