Epididymitis caused due to excess masturbation.

I am a 26 year old male. I have very recently developed epididymitis & am freaking out.
I am afraid my sex life might get affected in future & I am also concerned about infertility.

Did anyone have a similar experience? Did it resolve? Did you take any treatment/medication for it? Did you abstain from any form of sexual activity? If so, did it gradually heal itself? Most doctors seem to link epididymis to infection but I dont see a reason for it. I didn't have any sex for quite some time.

My epididymis is palpable & half the size of testis, I can feel it sticking to the lower pole of testis.
I did not have any sex within the last 18 months. It is masturbation induced.
Also I never had STDs. I never underwent any invasive or non-invasive procedure down there or any other part of the body. I am otherwise perfectly healthy.
My brother is a medical student and he told it is most likely a case of epididymitis.
I palpated it & I can feel the really enlarged tail of epididymis.

If I orgasm quickly it is very painful. If I delay the ejaculation a bit it is less painful, it still is enlarged & it gets hard in consistency, just like the testis itself, when I am aroused & my testicle enlarges. Feels like a mass at lower pole of testis.
At other times it is like a loose bag sticking to lower pole of testis with the tail of epididymis palpable. Self examination is not at all painful.

Excess masturbation caused it in the first place. I never had it before. I was addicted to porn for quite some time. I have cut down on masturbation to less than 4-5 times a month & am aiming for complete abstinence for a few months just in case it calms down. It flares up with a masturbation quickie. I think it got inflamed due to overuse in the first place. Also it is bilateral, right is very mild & not bothersome, left is what I am seriously concerned about.

I might be thinking in the wrong direction, please correct me then. I am afraid of a visit to doctor but I will if I must. I have come across few similar stories on the internet with inadequate information & no follow up provided.

I have tried to describe it vividly. Any help will be much appreciated.
