Epididymitis

Had pain in testicles for almost seven months, doctors have run std tests, prostate, kidney, and liver test as well as an ultrasound. Every test has come back with in normal limits, treated with doxicycline for two weeks with no resolve and just finish 30 day treatment with levofloxacin. The levofloxacin helped pain symptoms after three weeks but the symptoms did not clear completely. 800 mg of Motrin help with the pain only for a few hours. The pain increases as the day continues especially after sitting down for prolonged periods. My primary care manager is out of ideas and is prepared to send me to the urologist for treatment. My question is after all of the tests and treatments what else could possibley be the problem and what can the urologist do that my primary care manager has not done already?

i have exactly this for nearly 4 months. i get testicular pain on both sides but all the other symptoms only on the left. have been told by urologists there is nothing they can do and always just end u giving me more painkillers which just masks it.

I've had 5 separate courses of antibiotics and a testicular fix op and still have the same pain.

did you ever find out what it was?

Hello !
I'm 19 years old male and i had my right testis pain for 8 days with
frequent urination
severe pains at walks
fever
loss of apetite,

then i consulted a doctor and he gave medications for 3 days. In that time i had
nausea
no fever
ceased pain,

after 3 days i consulted him again and asked me for a checkup. I was sent to state hospital and they admitted me at once and yes, i had the surgery for the issue. It was an Orchiopexy done for inguinal hernia repair, it has been 10 days from the surgery and now i'm recovering.

Please seek help from a specialist asap ! Glad if that was helpful.

Over the past few months I have noticed a dull to aching pain in my stomach and testicle area usually after running.

I have lost 45 pounds over the past 8 months from running and eating smaller portions.
The only feeling I can describe what i'm going through is after getting kicked in the groin! I start to get cramps and achiness in the groin, specifically both testicles, and then it turns into stomach cramps.  Sometimes this gives me diarrhea. It only happens when I run more than 3 miles.  I recently bought some Underarmour running briefs that are a size smaller to stop all the bouncing around down there, and it seemed to help.  However, today I ran 4 miles and when I got back home it started again.  It's not excruciating pain, but it does not feel good either.

I have made an appointment to see my primary physician in hopes for some guidance, but in the meantime I was reaching out to see if anyone else was having related issues.

Regards,

MC

Hi,

Was a urinalysis and urine culture done? any presence of hematuria ( blood in urine)? Any problems with sexual response or function ( eg pain during or after ejaculation).Any discharge?

Since you have mentioned that previous tests showed no urinary tract infection and the presence of STD's have  been ruled out, I suggest you consult a neurologist for a second opinion just to rule out any possible nerve involvement. You may also want to discuss with your urologists regarding a condition called chronic testicular pain. This may be a possible differential in your case.

Do keep us posted regarding your physician's advise.

I have exeperienced it all.  For whatever reason, some people are much more succeptable to getting prostatits.  I started getting the urge to urinate all the time - it would come and go.

Then, one morning I woke up and my testicle hurt so bad I almost passed out and I was vomitting on the way to the ER.  They thought it was Epidiymitis and put me on an antibiotic.  This helped right up until the antibiotic was gone.

I went to the ER again because I was getting lower back pain, pain in my testicle (mostly my right), urge to urinate, etc. etc.  They did a prostate exam and said that it was a little swollen.  He prescribed me more antibiotics and it did the same as before.

What it comes down to is this - prostatitis can cause all of these symptoms and doctors do not know how we get it.  About 90% of the time, it is not actually due to an infection which is why antibiotics do not work (some of them do have anti-inflamatory agents that do help with pain though).

They told me to control my stress/anxiety because men who are generally stressed out get it much more often and to "use" my prostate - haha.

Hi, Did you also have lower ab pain sometimes? What other symptoms did you have?

I don't have the burning feeling.  But I do have to go to washroom several times at night.

I've had the pain for 4 months now.  Have you ever had it for that long?

I had the same problem, in my opinion it is most likely prostatitis.  Mine is brought on mostly by stress and when it comes, I just drink Cranberry Juice and take a few Ibuprofen a day and it goes away within a few days.

I had an ultrasound done of the testicles to confirm epididimytis and they said that none of the tubes were enlarged. My initial symptoms started out as a burning sensation in the tip of my penis then after a few months they spread to testicular pain. On occasion my inner thighs will be tender and sometimes have a sharp pain in my buttock muscle. The pain is mainly coming from my right testicle, I have noticed that this is the one that is in a lower position out of the two and I can't be sure but I believe it feels smaller.

Yes it was testicular ultrasound.  What can we rule out?

No penile discharge, no swelling in the scrotal, however, my left testicle is being pulled upwards.

Frequent urin at night time.

Do I have Chronic Prostatitis? And that it can't be cured?

Hi,

What type of ultrasound was done? Was this a testicular ultrasound?

Is there any penile discharge or scrotal swelling?

Any problems with urination or changes in the character of the urine?

Do keep us posted with your answers.

Hi,

I am having the same problem.  Its been 4 months now.

I've tried Cipro for 7 days, and some pain killers.  Nothing seems to work.

I saw an urologist, they pretty much told me there's nothing they can do.

Are you experiencing inner thigh tingle, lower back pain. Sometimes headache?

Mine is only on my leftside, and all my symptoms on on the leftside of body only.
