Frequent Urination

About a month ago I woke up one morning and I had to urinate constantly.  I urinate in the middle of the night, and when I get up in the morning I will go to the bathroom sometimes 2-3 times an hour. This continues throughout the day.  There is no burning or urge its just that I have a full bladder constantly.  I am not thirsty but I have to drink water to keep up with my unrinating or I will get dehydrated.  I went to the doctor and he did a urine test and blood test to make sure it wasn't diabetes or kidney problems and the tests came back with no problems at all.  My lower back hurts as well but the doctor says its probably not related.  It has me worried and annoyed.  Is it possible that I have a pinched nerve thats making me produce more urine? Any suggestions or ideas?

I am a 67year old lady. I suffer from frequent urination between 2am and 6 in the morning. This happens every half hour, lots of urine, no burning, no pain.I have had blood tests, cystoscopy and an IVP done, all came back negative. I don;t drink a lot since i never get thirsty, a cup of tea in the morning and a glass of water for my blood pressure tablets. I'm not swollen but 2yrs ago i had a back op for a pinched nerve, could this be the cause? Please help!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
What you seem, to be having is called polyuria. The first possibility that is already ruled out is diabetes mellitus. So the other possibilities have to be ruled out.

The other possibilities are interstitial cystitis, interstitial nephritis, lupus, hypercalcemia, hyperthyroidism, hypopituitarism, hypoaldosteronism, hypokalemia, renal glycosuria,Addison’s disease and polycythemia.Pls consult a urologist and get these possibilities ruled out.Since you are having lower back pain also,so kidney disease is an important possibility.

I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
