Hello,
There are 3 possibilities coming to my mind after reading your post. These include:
1) Epididymal cyst blocking the epididymis
2) Varciocele or Hydrocele (less likely)
3) Testicular mass/ epididymal mass
A lump caused by an infection is treated with antibiotics. I would recommend that you follow up with your Doctor so you can be examined and an ultrasound can be repeated. If necessary, a biopsy would have to performed to confirm the diagnosis. Surgical excision or removal would be recommended for tumors, and hydrocele, varicocele, and spermatocele.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
When u say about second opinion, bt my frnd this is my 8th opinion before i met this doctor and only he is able to sort out my some of prob and he is also good doctor.

Hi,
I too used to come down with orchitis or epididymitis at a rate of every three to four months most of the times ending up in hospital for about 3 to 5 days getting IV treatment.
My problems first started with UTI. kidney infections that would also effect the testicles. Prostatis.
I came accross an article that mentioned that males having undergone prostatectomies also used to get a vasectomy at the same time to prevent infections of setteling in the testicles. So in 1999 after my wife and I had three children, I opted for a vasectomy in the hope that it would end the infections.
The vasectomy ended up with a complication in the form of a left hematoma, that surgically removed two days later.
Over about a period of a year things did not completely heal and I had a small hole in my left side of my scrotum. Urologist told me it was nothing to worry about.
A week later, I ended up in the local hospital with a major infection of the left testicle. Another week went by and the scrotum split open.
I was rushed to a hospital where the urologist worked out off and a urologist being on call at the time ended up doing an emergency left orchiectomy on the night of my birthday.
It was found to be a Strep B infection and the scrotum was left open and packed with saline soaked gauze. I had to have a sitz bath and packing changed every four hours.
It took several months before things healed. At times I still have pain as if the left testicle is still there. I have had no other infections of the right testicle.
The pain that I do experience is thought to be phantom pains, simmiler to what an amputee experiences.
I also have neurological problems and am medicated as a result. With medications for the neurological problems as well as Morphine for pain as well, I'm able to cope with things.
Other than the pahntom pains, there is no real explaination.
Since you can see a change in your scrotum, you might have to get a second opinion. Something else has to cause these problems.
I'm sorry that I don't have a solution for you, but have an idea what it is like to live with pain. I experience pain on a daily basis. Some of that pain that I experience is pain in a testicle, I no longer have.
All the best,
Ron
