Infection from anal sex

Hi. I have unprotected anal sex with my wife a couple of months ago. About a week and a half later I developed an urge to pee and a pain from around testicle/pelvic area. Went to std clinic to get checked. Got tested for std. Chlamydia and Gomorrah. Both tests came back negitive but was diagnosed with urethritis.( I had a second chlamydia and gonorreaha test done just to be sure). Was given  7days doxycycline but this had little effect. I also had a test for ureaplasma and mycoplasma genitalium. These too came back negative. Three weeks after taking the doxy I went back to clinic as was still experiencing symptoms. Another swab test confirmed urethritis had gone (<5 wbc). With this result I was happy even though still had symptoms  tried to forget about it and carry on thinking they would go away. Another three weeks passed and I was still having symptoms. Went back to the clinic and had another swab test done. This time I had it done in the morning after holding urine overnight. Again, results were completely clear.
It has been almost 10 weeks now and I am still experiencing these symptoms. I am very worried now that I may have a prostate infection or epididymitis caused by bacteria that are found in the anus. What should I now do from here. Have not had prostate checked.

Sometimes the nerves can become irritated and will continue to produce the urgency feeling even when tests return as clear. Doxy or Cipro never worked for me for a UTI, perhaps you need to try a different medication. I would only respond to amoxicillin which is not the norm, but worked like a charm.

Try flushing out your system with lots of water, cranberry juice as well. You may have UTI or at least need to be treated for one.

Yes. I have had a urine culture. Nothing found. Had prostate checked. Doc said it felt normal.

Were you checked for a urinary tract infection? Those are caused by e.coli bacteria found the colon. They can spread to your bladder and other areas and from my experience are horribly painful and cause you to feel like you have to urinate constantly.
