Is my kidney stone still there?

Hi Last Thursday night I all of a sudden came over in excruciating pain on my right side, lower back and abdomen.  It felt like i was in labour.  After sitting up A&E for 3 hours I was diagnosed as having kidney stones. I was sent away with Voltarol supositary and told to drink plenty of water.  The pain has eased and is still in the same place but i find that it comes in waves now, so am taking pain killers.  Does this mean the stones is still there, how long should i wait before i go to Dr?  The hospital told me I would know when I had passed it beuase i would bleed, nothing yet though.

Any help please.
