Left Testicle Pain

I'm a 16 year old male who has had reappearing pain in behind only my left testicle.  The pain will only show up every once in a while and isn't the actual testicle itself, but feels as if it is in behind the testicle, especially when touched.  The pain isn't too bad, but it may show up once every week and sometimes more, going away after between 4 - 11 hours - some times it lasts whole days while other times it lasts only a small amount of time.  I've seen my doctor and have been referred to a urologist, but I was just wondering if someone could shed some light on this issue in the meantime.  My doctor doesn't seem to be too worried about it at all, and says it may just be from me growing, "twisting it the wrong way" and other stuff like that.  I did have an ultrasound on both testicles and the "surrounding area", and nothing turned up except a small pocket of fluid on my left testicle that they said was fairly normal and nothing to worry about. I just don't really know what this pain could be caused by.  Could it be something wrong with the tubes in behind my testicle, or just from me growing?  Any thoughts on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Also, the magnitude of the pain varies.  Sometimes it may be really quite painful, while other times it isn't nearly as painful.
