Lump on Testicle When Aroused

Hello,

I've recently noticed that as my penis becomes erect before and and during sex, I get a small lump on the end of my left testicle, and then diminishes in size a while later. I do not notice it unless I am aroused. It seems to be where the epididymis attaches to the testicle. I do not have this problem in my right testicle. What are the causes for this? Perhaps sperm is getting built up there and not allowed to flow through? How is it treated if necessary?

Thank you!

Hi banj04, did you get it checked out? Would be appreciated if you could follow up, Thankyou
My partner ended up having a varicocele. Very common apparently.
Does he feel good now? Is everything okay with his sex life?
Because I heard it affects your fertility
We have a baby which we conceived naturally  on our first attempt and his sperm count was in the normal range when we had it tested pre conception so no dramas there for us but I know it can reduce fertility for some.
Congratulations! Thankyou so much for the help, appreciate it :)

As my husband and I were having intercourse last night, we noticed a large hard lump on this left testicle.  Right away he panicked, since cancer is very predominant on his side of the family.  We both thought it was very strange that he hadn't noticed such a large lump before.  Ofcourse he never ejaculated,  and after about 5 minutes the lump was gone.  As I've been doing some research on the internet, and apparently there's many men with the same issue, all the cases that I read are on the left testicle, some after having different tests and ultrasounds done,  they've been told there were no abnormalities or lumps found, and continue to get these bumps when aroused.  My husband felt better after reading the comments , but we're still following up with a doctor tomorrow.  Is there a name for this condition?  Does anyone know what causes it or how to treat it?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

A swelling of the epididymis can indicate an epididymal inflammation, cyst, or spermatocele.
If the swelling subsides on ejaculation, it could be that the built-up secretions are released and this would eliminate the possibility of a cyst.

An evaluation by ultrasound will help to reveal what exactly could be the structural abnormality at the affected site. Even though a cyst or a swelling of the epididymis is usually harmless, care will need to be exercised to avoid infections, especially if there is a reflux of semen during ejaculation.

Ensure that fluid intake is over 2000mlper day, that diet includes plenty of vitamin A and C, and avoid injury or trauma to the scrotum.

Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
regards
