LAST YEAR I INJURRED MY TESTICLES IN A BICYCLE ACCIDENT, BUT MY BROKEN ARM WAS MY CONCERN, AT THE TIME. A FEW TIMES DURING THE YEAR I WOULD STRAIN WHILE LIFTING AND FEEL THE PRESSURE. THREE WEEKS AGO, WHILE RIDDING MY BICYCLE, AGAIN, I WRACKED MY "NADS". I AM 38 YRS OLD, HAVE NEVER HAD SWELLING, AND 20 YRS AGO 1 STD. MY PROBLEM IS, OVER THE LAST WEEK, MY RIGHT TESTICLE HAS SWOLLEN TO 3 Xs ITS NORML SIZE, MY SCROTUM LOOKS LIKE AN UGLY BASEBALL, THERES ALOT OF PRESSURE, ALOT OF PAIN, AND IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. I AM GOING TO SEE A DR. IN THE MORNING BUT I AM SCARED TO DEATH THEY WILL NEED TO OPPERATE ON MY "BOYS". BUT IF I DONT GO, BY NEXT WEEK IT WILL LOOK LIKE I HAVE A HIPPITY-HOP IN A LEG LOCK. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT THE DR. MIGHT DO?
Testicle pain is discomfort in one or both testicles. The pain sometimes radiates to the lower abdomen. Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion -- most common in young men between 10 and 20 years old, excessive bicycle riding, hernia or kidney or ureteric stones.
You can provide support to the scrotum by wearing an athletic supporter, apply ice to the scrotum, take warm baths if there are signs of inflammation, while lying down, place a rolled towel under your scrotum or try over-the-counter pain relievers, like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
Some causes of testicle pain, including testicular torsion, can lead to infertility if not treated promptly. Infections also should be examined and treated right away. If the infection is caused by bacteria, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic. So please visit your doctor if the symptoms persist.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
