Semen discoloration

The last three ejaculations had a discoloration to them.  The first of three had what appeared as a little blood in part of the semen.  The next two had more of a brown appearance.  Note it is not throughout the semen.  I have no unusual pain with urination, ejaculation and there is no blood in the urine.  I have been taking coumadin for about six weeks as a result of a blood clot in the leg and lungs.  Is this something to be concerned about and to seek medical advice?

Thank you,

Hi

Blood is semen is called hematospermia which is usually a benign condition and can be harmless. However it could also be due to Infections, prostate conditions, urethera abnormalities, lesions in seminal vesicles or systemic conditions such as hypertension etc.  Coumadin can also lead to bleeding as it acts by making the blood thinner and prevention of clotting. You should consult a doctor for a complete evaluation and also for getting a INR test done to check the level of blood clotting in your body.
