Severe kidney pain..

This is going to be long but I am urging someone to help me.. or atleast give me some typeof advice.
When I was 18 I had what I thought to be a kidney infection.. my back was just SO sore. I went to the doctor 3 different times for them to tell me it was all in my head, that I only had a bladder infection. Finally it got so painful I couldn't walk or breathe and was taken to the ER with a sever kidney infection and a temperature of 104. They then found that I had 3 kidneys (duplicate collecting system) that I had never known about. They then found that I had had so many bladder & kidney infections when I was younger that I apparently never knew about, that my left kidneys were really scarred. I then had a stent placed, and removed.. and then again after that about 6 months later when the infections continued. They then found I had severe refluxing. I had stents placed one more time, which still didn't help. I thne had a ureter transplant to stop the refluxing in January 2007. Since then I haven't had too many problems.. maybe a bladder infection here and there (which I am relatively used to by now). About 2 months ago I had sever pain in my kidney again, shivers & chills and I could tell I had a really bad infection. I went to the ER and the doctor simply told me 'You do not have an infection, go home and take some tylenol' and had the audacity to tell me "You must just have a really low pain threshold or the maturity of that of a 3 year old" and sent me on my way.. with TYLENOL.
I was livid, but stayed in bed for 3 days with some left-over vicodin from my previous surgery and drank my body weight in water and let it pass.

The past couple of days I have been feeling horrible. My side is just throbbing. At first it started out like a small pain and it's just gotten increasingly worse the past few days. I don't really have any other symptoms of an infection.. no burning, no urine retention, no fever, etc.. just and insane pain in my kidney. I can barely walk, it hurts just to touch my back..
I scheduled an appointment with my Urologist that has been seeing me about this the past few years, but my appointment isn't until Tuesday.. that's 5 days away. I honestly don't think I can handle this for 5 days.. call me a baby, call me 'immature', be that as it may, I can't handle the pain. I feel as though I'm about to pass out.
But, if I go to the ER, will I just get sent right home again if there is no infection? Regardless if there is an infection, there has to be SOMETHING wrong because I wouldn't be in this severe pain just for no reason.. why would they have sent me home last time? We were they so quick to tell me what WASN'T wrong versus trying to look for what WAS wrong? I'm just too afraid to have that happen again.. the doctor made me feel like an idiot last time and I just don't know what else to do.

Well I finally went to the ER and was in the hospital for a week and no answers. Severe pain still. My kidney is swollen to 3x normal size and still no answers. I had a voiding cystogram, CT scans w/ and w/o contrast etc and no answers. No infection. But my back/flank is REALLY tender to the touch.. it hurts to lay on my back. I have an appointment the 29th with a pediatric urologist (not sure why because I'm 21) to talk about another possible surgery.. I will also be requesting a pain management specialist, thank you. All they prescribed me was vicodin mixed with tylenol and it's not doing anything for my pain whatsoever.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

I understand how discomforting this one is for you. You may need a referral to an infectious disease specialist as well as a pain management specialist. This pain that you are experiencing has to be managed and the case has to be assessed. Pain that is debilitating or severe enough to hinder your daily activities need to be managed by a specialist.

Do continue to be proactive about this. At this point, an infection should present with a fever or tenderness over the abdomen or flank. Are these present?

Keep going to a different doctor until you get answers, you dont want to put your health in jeopardy or let it go and it can become worse.
