Somebody please help me , penis problems.

Hi there,

I had unprotected sex about 6 months ago with someone who had  cystitis. I developed similar sypmptoms naturally after this and was prescribed Ciprofloxacin antibiotics. During the course of antiobiotics I developed  thrush like symptoms which I believe was a reaction to the antibiotics.

Ever since then my penis has not been right and it is causing me great anxiety and depressive feelings because I cant get answers from my doctors. I am clear of any regular STD's like Chlamydia, Gonorreah etc and have had blood tests that say I am not diabetic or anything like that.

My penis glans appears very dry when I pull the foreskin back (and I have had every type of steroid and antifungal cream known to man , including natural ozonated oil) and I get a sharp stabbing pain from time to time in the head or glans of my penis. I also looked this morning at my penis and I had a small red spot on my penis that I am now worried about. Something has definetely changed and my foreskin doesnt naturally moisturize my glans anymore. I continue to get a pinching feeling in the tip of my penis. Also , when I get an erection , it appears as if I have lumps across the head of my penis, under the surface.

This whole situation as small as it may seem to you is making have really bad thoughts all the time and causing problems with my wife although she is understanding.

I applied 1% Hydrocortisone with fluconazale ( Canestan) for a period of time which did ease symptoms externally, but there is an underlying problem I beleive in the tissues or urethra inside the head of my penis which makes the external symptoms reoccur. I had a flexible cystoscopy and they did not find any stents or anything out of the ordinary. I strongly believe it is some kind of infection or bacteria that the three types of antibiotics I have had are not affected by, I have had Ciprofloxacin, Doxycyclin, antiobiotics for urine infection, Canesten, Hydrocortisone, eumovate cream, Dicloflex, and the Canestan Fluconazale oral tablet twice.

Help me please, I can’t take it anymore.

Urethral syndrome has not been considered. Evey time the doctos look at my penis they say nothing is wrong, but I feel the pinching pain, and I see the skin condition get worse and get better again. I know my body really well, and it seems like they don't care and try to dismiss me every time I go there. They talk to me like I am some kind of Hypochondriac, which I am not.

In the UK, medical service is free but very poor quality.

I think I need to see a specialist and am Willing to pay for private care. Do you think I need to see a specialist urology doctor?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

I do understand your concern. This appears to be a superficial skin irritation or condition. The symptoms may be nerve related which may point towards a dermatitic skin condition. Some forms of dermatitis may not present with a rash especially xerotic or irritant types. I suggest that if the topical medications do not lead to any improvement, you may just as well stop their use. You may ask your doctor about this. This may be an allergic reaction. Also, if pain or burning in urination is noted , then urethral syndrome may have to be considered.

Has anyone considered urethral syndrome as a differential?
