Thank You

I had PAE done a month ago and I am quite satisfied with the results.  The first few days after surgery can be rough.  I have lots of pain in my penis and could not eliminate for two days in any form.  After the first two days the pain began to subside although it all came bad each time I had to urinate.  The urination pain lasted for another 8 or ten days and now it is all gone.  My urination stream is greatly improved and I am finally getting some better nights sleep.

Hi riverrock,
My above post in which I asked for info on PAE is dated 2013.  Actually I first heard of PAE 10 years before that but it was still in 'trial' and it wasn't even being done in the US at the time of my post.   I kept a watchful eye and finally I saw it was being performed in Georgia, United States  - it was now 2015.  We were prepared to go to Georgia (We lived in California, US) for the procedure as My Husband and I both knew We didn't want TURP .  By sheer coincidence (sychronicity ??) I stumbled on a post from a man who had the procedure  performed at Kaiser Hosp - only 20 miles from where We lived !!  It was the first time this surgeon had performed this particular surgery but prior to that, He was performing arterial embolization for Female issues.  So - my Husband was His 2nd patient ever for this procedure !!  This was March of 2015.  My Husband didn't have any of  the discomfort You describe after the PAE and it was a TOTAL success for Him.   His previous symptoms of enlarged prostate were greatly improved immediately and within a few weeks He was symptom free.  It's been 4 years now, He is 72 now, and His Prostate Performs As It Did  When He Was A Young Man !!

Your situation too will likely continue to improve in time.   Good Luck To You.

Great to hear of such a successful outcome for a little-known procedure. Thx for letting us know!

It appears studies are underway in UK and USA, and in USA, studies will go on for 2 years.  You might be able to get in on a study.
