Urinary Incontinence Help

I'm suffering from Urinary Incontinence.  I'm 40 year old male.  I all ready have an enlarged prostate and had that for many years, but recently I've been dealing with incontinence.  I pretty much drip after every time I urinate and it may last for a half hour to hour after urinating.  I had a Cystoscopy and a Urodynamic and they didn't find anything wrong with the bladder.  My problem seems to be getting worse.  I was on medication but it doesn't seem to help.  Currently I had to start wearing pads because of the leakage.  Is there anything else I can do to solve this issue?  Any medications or anything else I can take?  Also, can having a Cystoscopy and a Urodynamic worsen the issue.  I've noticed a week or two after I had it the problem worsen.  I had it before the tests, but it seem to get worse.  Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your response Phil.  My doctor suggested TURP I believe, but said I should wait since I don't have any children yet and if I have it I won't be able to.  I'll have to look into to that surgery.  I don't want to make it worse.  Right now I just get a little leakage after urinating that may last a few minutes after up until an hour, but after that it is fine.  I think I have stress incontinence, since I few times when I laugh, move up or down or changes positions in my chair I can feel leakage.  I'll probably ask my doctor to give me a stress incontinence test next time I go in.  Also, there are sometimes where it feels like I'm leaking, but then when I check it is dry and I don't see any drops in my underwear where other times I do see it and it is a drop or two.  I just hope it doesn't get any worse.

Not sure if this will help. I had TURP recently. I do not leak as much now but still wear pads. I have got the Sheath type catheter with small discreet leg bag. Unfortunately I cannot wear them yet as in my younger foolish years had a peircing under the penis head for a ring to go through and out urethera. The sheaths work fine and can recomend them as an alternative. Because of the peircing hole I get secondary leakage which causes sheath not to fit. Once I have had surgery to seal the hole I will use them for long journeys etc but probably rely on pads for near to home lifestyle. I never thought I would get used to either but you really do have to try whats available help to you. You then find life improves and you move on with it. Phil

Thanks for your response.  No I haven't tried Flomax yet.  I could ask my doctor about it.  Right now he has me on a few different meds and I'm actually cutting back on one that I took for a long time that could cause some leakage.  Dealing with the leakage is very frustrating and I had to start wearing pads in my underwear when I'm out or at work.  Not sure if the problem will get worse or better.

Hi Jack,

I don't know if you have tried Flomax yet but may help with your BPH.  There is a surgery that I have heard people that it greatly changed their life for the better and it is called a TURP. (Transurethral Resection of the Prostate)  In some people this may cause permanent leaking so talk to your urologist before deciding.  If worse comes to worse, you could also use a condom catheter, sometimes called a Freedom catheter.  Life's not over, it is just getting a smite more challenging.

Good luck.
