UTI with LESS urination?!

I have for a while now had a lot of issues with frequency and urgency (due to gynecological problems), and I had actually noticed within the past couple weeks that my frequency diminished significantly! I was really excited about this improvement, but then I got a call from the doctor today saying that I had a UTI... I find this odd because I had been peeing MUCH less than I have been the past couple years, I thought it was just finally improving, but now I'm wondering if there is a connection with the infection? Any thought?

Hi there!

Though usually an increased frequency or urination is seen with UTIs, the frequency may remain normal in some situations. UTI medications do not increase thirst.
Hope this information helps.

Take care!

Oh and I would just like to add something...

Does the medicine for a uti make your urine a lot darker?  Just want to make sure of that.
