WBC in Urine- Urgent Help!

Hello I am a 27 year old female who passed a Kidney stone about 2-3 months ago. However i went to the Dr. for a normal check up and he did some urine tests and it showed that i had 2-4 WBC in my urine. He gave me some antibiotics for 5 days and told me two weeks after to to a Urine Culture Test to make sure the bacteria had gone away. I never had any symptoms of a UTI just sometimes when i pass urine i would see it a little cloudy as in white. Most times my urine is clear.

I followed my Doctor's advice and took and antibiotics and also did a Culture test. However the Culture test came up with the following results:

WBC/HPF: 1-2
Bacteria: +
Culture: Greater than 10,000 Colonies/ML
             Non-Haemolytic Streptococcus Isolated

When i took the results to my Dr. he put me back on antibiotics for 10 days which is a longer time and he;s also sending me for an Ultrasound of my entire Abdomen and Pelvic area.

I am scared? Is something wrong with me?  Please someone help me.
I asked my Dr. and he said he just wants to make sure that my Kidneys are functioning well. That this is routine that most times everything is ok.

But this is so strange cause I went to the gyno the other day and she did a normal urine test and she didnt pick up anything. I am very confused. Can someone help me please?

Thank you

Thanks for your quick response but just when i was getting the Kidney stone pain i did a  CT non-contrast scan on my both kidneys and only one stone was found and also i did a blood test for Calcium after i passed the stone to make sure i have no more Kidney Stones in me. The test was negative and my calcium levels were normal.

Hi,

You see, any infection in the urine predisposes a person to kidney stone formation and on the other hand presence of stone in the kidney and the urinary tract predisposes the person to repeated urinary infections. I think your doctor has simply asked to do the ultrasound to rule out the presence of stones or any other abnormality (for e.g. congenital abnormalities) in the urinary tract which predisposed you to the stone formation or the urine infection.

I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
