Why have my periods stopped?

Why have my periods stopped. It's been about 4 months since I've had a period. Am only 39 years old. Am not not overly stressed. I am overweight but this happened to me before back in 1998 and I was slim and normal weight then, they stopped for 6 months at a time.

I get symptoms such as water retention and cravings and sore breasts every month sometimes I even get cramps but just no bleed.

I've been checked out by doctors and been told they can't find anything wrong. Been to alternative doctors both homeopathic and reflexologist to move on any blockages and they say i'm holding it back but dunno why so would gladly like to know more information about it and any other people have the same problems with it let me know please.

Not really stressed about it but would like to know if it's the start of early menopause as I was told when I was 28 years old that's what I had. yet my periods came back and I went on to have a child at age 31.

I would appreciate any help thanks.

Hi,
To me it seems like perimenopausal period only and there’s a possibility of early menopause. However, pregnancy should be ruled out as that’s the foremost possibility of any amenorrhoea. Please get the pregnancy test done first although the chances of it coming out as positive seem minimal. Please do consult a gynecologist for the same and seek an opinion. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
