Vericocele in both testicles. Extreme depression due fertility issues.

I had scans and doctors confirmed vericocele in BOTH my testicles. They didnt provide any information at all! They told me it's like the veins old people get, that is it. I've now done days of research and find out I may struggle to have children. I'm 26 and just don't feel like a man anymore. Basically from what he said they'll only take action if its accompanied by serious pain. I've also read it gets worse with time and is better to deal with it early? On the other hand I've read that the operations for it aren't guaranteed to help with fertility. I have a long term girlfriend and now I've got 0 urge to have sex with her because how down its making me feel. I feel betrayed by the NHS and angry in all honesty at the lack of information. They haven't even disclosed what grade it is, nothing, just that I have it. I feel even worse that I have it in both, whereas most have it in just the left. Am I truly screwed? What do I do? My sibling can't have children due to other issues, just feels like a cruel joke. Does anyone have any information? Please help me!

MOST people who have a vericocele are NOT infertile, so while you should obviously expect more information from your doctors, it's not as grim as you're letting it become, in your head: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/323528.php

The best course of action for you right now is to get a sperm count.  You will probably have to pay out-of-pocked for it, but peace of mind is worth something, right?  If your sperm count is questionable, and you're concerned about the future, you could bank some of your sperm - again, peace of mind.

In all likelihood, you won't experience problems, but your best bet is to see a fertility specialist.  They will know more about your condition and be able to give you advice for now - and the future.
