Hi,
As a five year old boy I had surgery for an undescended left testicle. During puberty I noticed that the left testicle did not gain in size as the right one did and to this day is much smaller and hangs higher than the right one. Unfortunately I went to a urologist way too late (at the age of 20) who was very abrupt and did not provide a lot of answers only that if I wanted to know he could do a sperm count to see whether I was fertile or not (which I didn't do as I have no child wish and at the time did not want to know) and that I should learn to live with it.
Now, 5 years later, I do not feel good about the diagnosis back then and wonder whether this doctor was completely correct. Is it true that nothing is to be done? Shouldn't I have a testosterone check (I have normal beard grow, no erectile disfunction, etc.)? Is there a higher risk for testicular cancer? Is it useful to visit another urologist or will he just come to the same conclusion?
Answers will be much appreciated!
