Urethral strictures sometimes come back after being opened up. Sometimes it takes several tries before it stays open. Occasionally it requires a device called a Urolume to keep it open. Open operations are rarely needed nowadays.

So, you may need to have ir opened and than keep close contact with the doctor .

Thinner catheters are not the answer as they curl up distal to the stricture.

Sir
I was examined for BPH but prostrate is normal.
Doc says I've constricted urinary duct through Penis and needs to be operated.
But last time when I underwent the same operation the problem persisted.
Doc has advised to use Catheter but I when I insert it I start to bleed cause of the uneven inner wall of the urinary duct inside Penis.
Please may I know whether after the Operation the uneven floor of the duct will grow again? As it has happened once
And also tell me what is the diameter of the thinnest available Catheter and where can I find it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Difficulty in urinating in males can be due to obstruction due to enlarged prostate due to benign prostatic hypertrophy (often called BPH) or infection of the prostate( prostatitis), any blockage in the flow of urine like any scar tissue, injury (as in a car wreck or bad fall), blood clots, infection, tumors in the pelvic region, and stones, infection or due to disruption of the delicate and complex system of nerves that connects the urinary tract with the brain and the nervous system.

I suggest you an immediate urologist’s evaluation to check out these possibilities and confirm the diagnosis after investigations.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
