my father cant pee!

Hello Doctor. My father just left the house going to the hospital to see what is wrong. he just cant pee!

he went before to make some tests for his urine, and it was all clear..no blood no nothing. They gave him some medicine. but he still cant pee!

I dont know what it cauld be. Im worried. can you please tell me the  possible causes and the kind of treatment he should have.

he is diabetic and 65 years old.

thank you Stephen, he came today at the morning from hospital, tey made tests for him . and gave him antibiotics...now he told me 50% of the pain has gone...and he can pee...but not 100% in a normal way. is the catheter necessary? will he have it in the future?

Most likely, the doctors at the hospital will insert a rubber tube into his bladder, through his penis, to drain his urine and stop his discomfort and let his bladder rest. The catheter will have to stay in until he can pee or until they operate.
