hello Medicmommy,
thanks for the reply
But when i went to the doctor the other day, and he proposed a cistoscopy.Till we get an insurance clearance for that, we did a ultra sound test today.
The results as follows :
-benign cyst in left ovary
-bilateral minimal caliectasis in both kidneys.
.......although the other factors are all normal.
my doctor told me that he will take necessary action after the cistoscopy.
For the time being, i drink some herbal medicinal drinks and cranberry juice to prevent future infections from happening.
Can you please tell me if this problem will affect my life.
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated
Hello. Something else is probably going on. Your antibiotics were quite strong, is there any chance you have been battling yeast infections caused by them? This is quite common, and a yeast infection can cause burning and discomfort as well and antibiotics can make it worse. Do you have access to over-the-counter pyriduim and cranberry capsules or juice? The pyriduim numbs the urinary tract (and turns your urine an alarming orange color), and the cranberry coats your urinary tract, making it harder for the bacteria to grow. This does not take place of antibiotics if you still have a bacterial infection, but it does help you fight it. If you think it may from a fungal infection, start taking probiotics (acidophillus, lactobacillus, etc. -found in yogurt cultures and in tablets) to replace your natural bacteria (that was killed by the antibiotic) in your gut. Once that is done, the fungal infection shouldn't return because your body will be able to keep it away. I hope this helps.
hello medicmommy,
thank you for you answer.
But these series of continuous infections started when my urologist told me to take a 3 month course of medicine called Uro-vaxom- and i took this to prevent further infection like this from happening.
But after 7 days of taking Uro-vaxom, i felt a burning sensation and i drank lots of water and i stopped taking Uro-Vaxom eventually, my problem became much much worse and started to continued taking ciprobay.
Today, my tablets of ciprobay are over and i do not know what i should do..
My urologist is not in the country as well
Hello. It could be your e.coli infection was taken care of by the cipro, but another more persistent infection like a yeast infection or urinary tract MRSA (methecillin resistant stapholococcus aureus) has taken its place. Perhaps a different antibiotic like erythromycin, or one of its family would work better. I hope this helps...~MM
