vaginal odor after sex
Whenever my husband and i have sex there is always a smell coming from my vagina the following day. it happens when we have sex. what is it and how do i get rid of it?
This is bacterial vaginosis known as BV it smells worse after sex when the semen has mixed with your vaginal fluid. This won't go away without antibiotics. If your husband is circumsied then he is probably ok and does not need treatment. My husband did because even though he is circumsied his skin is loose and has a tendency to hang over not allowing area to breath. How you can tell if hubby has it if the tip of his penis were the opening is smells like fish then he needs treatment too you would need to tell the doc this. BV is caused by bacteria in the stool when having sex since the womens anus and vagina are so close it causes the bacteria to enter the vaginal track when penis is penetrating the vagina. I suffered with this a lot could not figure out why I kept getting them over and over again. After finially seeing someone who could tell me were is was coming from. We treated myself and hubby and treated myself twice until it was completly gone. When I have sex now I make sure to wash myself and anus before sex to make sure no bacteria gets in when we have sex. If you follow this and do a medicated douch once or twice a month you should be fine. Don't douch until treated for BV since this could push the infection up to your fallapion tubes.

This can be due to the overgrowth of normal living vaginal bacteria. Urinate after intercourse and wash the vaginal area properly with fresh water. Also change your underwear and wear cotton ones. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a gynecologist and get bacterial vaginosis ruled out. Culture of the vaginal discharge can be done to confirm the diagnosis.
