Low vitamin D

I was recently diagnosed via a blood test, that my Vitamin D level is 14.5. My doctor put me on a 50,000 IU of Vitamin D, once a week. I am wondering how long it will be before I have a clearer brain, and have less sadness. I am actually a very happy person, as I exercise alot, but I can become sad quite easily over certain things. I am a woman in my 50s.

Everyone is different but 2-3 months on average you start feeling better. drink milk as well to get your calcium. check b12, iron as well if you haven't and your thyroid. you need to keep testing your Vit D every 3 months to make sure your achieved and maintain a good level.

It does take a couple of months but at the dose you are at maybe sooner. I wonder if you are hypothyroid. I became hypothyroid last year when I was 50. It made me a bit depressed, very fatigued, and brain fog. Also, menopause can do this. So you might get your FSH done if you are not in menopause and your TSH if you don't know if you are hypothyroid or not. If you are hypothyroid it takes about 6 months to get back to normal.  But you start to feel better each time they increase the dose.  If your depression is too bad you might want something in the interim.  I also found writing down positive affimations (positive things you did like ten things twice a day on anything like I am loved, I was kissed, I took a walk. It will help get the negative out. I also bought a good book for brain fog and it seems to help.
It is called the Brain Power Game Plan by Cynthia R. Green, Ph.D. It has lots of brain games and is kinda of fun and also helps you get better at getting your mind going. Doing puzzles like sudoku and crosswords etc. Learning a language or anything you can get yourself to learn is good. I found that book helps because it isn't too hard and gets you out of the funk.
