vitamin D deficiency

This is my first post, I have been researching the effects of vitamin D deficiency, which brought me to you guys. I went to my Dr. with some worry-some issues, Did blood work and the only thing that came back abnormal was my vitamin D levels and B12 , which my Dr.. does not seem too concerned about. My vitamin D level was 11 , 3 months ago and I went to my Dr. feeling worse than ever, she did another round of blood work and I am at a 8.2. She told me to take 5,000 IU a day and check back in 3 months. Was wondering why it is getting so low so fast, I feel at least?

You need UVB sun rays to make D3 in your body. There's not enough D3 in food to keep levels up. 5,000iu daily can help raise levels. You might want to take more daily to get levels up faster. It has a half life of 19-25 hours. You need to keep supplementing. Also take magnesium to balance the calcium. The magnesium is needed because it works with the Vitamin D.

Could less sun exposure in the winter months cause decline? Sure.... not sure where u live but that can contribute. Vitamin D deficiencey can cause depression, body aches, hair loss and fatigue. I strongly suggest taking it daily and ask for another bloodwork in a month and see if theres any improvement. I take 50,000 once a week and 2,000 everyday.

Low levels of sun exposure, inadequate diet lacking in Vitamin D. I hope your calcium levels are okay. Ad these two are inter related. Taking a B 12 supplement will be good as well, especially with breakfast in the morning.

P.S I don't sense anything to be a cause of worry in your case. take the Vitamin D like she said, and it is good to keep an eye on blood pressure. And maintain optimum calcium levels too.
