vitamin D deficient?

I have all the textbook symptoms of hypothyroid, but when tested, my levels were not low.  However,I am severely vitamin D deficient.  A complete metabolic panel was done along with checking they thyroid and checking for anemia.  I am sceptical that a vitamin D deficiency can cause the hair loss, weight gain, extreme fatigue and mood swings I am having.  Can it?

I am not sure of the actual numbers, but should have all the results tomorrow.  I am curious to see what my actual numbers are for thyroid as I understand even on the low end can cause problems in some people.  Doc also wants to put me on prozac, but i am reluctant to start it.  I think I will do the vitamin D thing first and see if the depression gets better.  Thanks for your help.

Low Vit. D hinders calcium absorbtion.  High serum calcium can cause weight gain, mood swings and fatigue.   I have both Vit. D deficiency and hypothyroidism.  What wer your actual lab numbers?  Sometimes normal range is not optimal range and you have symptoms.
