This is closed. There is no need for this since another is going on for a longer term than just "summer".

I don't know how to delete this, so if any moderators want to....go for it.

Sorry to anyone for anything.

There is nothing wrong with having a few challenges here. So let's plan on starting this.

Anyone have any ideas of a good weigh in day?  A good Start Day?

Maybe a weekly weigh in? I'm sure people are on different weekly cycles of their weight loss.

Start out by:
What you're doing to lose...ie diet, exercise, calorie..etc...:
Starting date of Weight Loss Journey:
Goal:
mm/dd/yy - Week 1 weight:      Loss/Gain
mm/dd/yy -Week 2 weight:       Loss/Gain
How your week went? Good....struggles....
etc...
Then when someone new joins they can post and get caught up to current weeks weigh in.

We can run this challenge until whenever, that way anyone can join at anytime and go back and read and maybe get some motivation from another's journey.

It's not so much a competition, its support, but a place we come to post and share our weekly challenges and trumphs.

All thoughts are welcome and twe...this isn't about having to meet ones goals, it's just a different place to share our journey and read about others.

I try to follow journal entries and trackers of others, but it's a lot easier if it would be in a "forum type format"

I am not a "naysayer"...if you were to go back and read really old posts, I'm an "oldie, but a goodie" (IMHO, lol).  I voted shorter.  I will explain why.  I hope this comes across well.

Look at the summer challenge.  Did 1 person meet his/her goal(s)?  I didn't, and I have "been there/done that" so many times, I should be able to do it in my sleep.  BUT, my circumstances have changed from when I first started on WL&D (weight loss & dieting) going on 3 years ago.

I lost 65 or 70 pounds starting in July of 2006 and have, for the most part, kept it off.  I got to my goal in April of 2007.  I am only 10 pounds over at this point.  I have "relapsed" as much as 20 pounds, and that is when I found MedHelp.  I have never gone over 12 pounds again, though.

When I was losing weight for those 9 months, I set small, short term goals and it worked.  Have you ever heard the argument, "How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time."

I am NOT putting down long-term goals.  You have to know where you're going.  When I'm taking a long trip, though, I set short goals in order to push myself to reach my final destination.

I always worry that I am not making sense or that I sound like I'm arguing.  I'M NOT !  I just know that after YEARS of dieting (my whole adult life almost) and having most of my friends do the same or TRY to do the same, I know that 99% of people NEVER PERSEVERE TO THE END   :(

I just want to help and encourage if at all possible and I worry that posts like this one won't come out right.  Please hear where I'm coming from but don't think I am saying long-term goals are bad, ok?

I think anything that encourages and supports others is a great thing - so i say go for it - people can be in several challenges, support groups simultaniously.....

New Year -  New You - thats my challenge title lol

I'm reaching for December 31st too, but I know how  Christmas is around here.

What do you think about starting a thing like this, but not call it a challenge?

Maybe....Weight Loss Goals/Stats/other ?   Maybe have it last a year or never ending...

Not so much that we compete, but we come post are progress, struggles, type of diet, what works and doesnt.

Help me "brainstorm" girl.  You're pretty popular here.

"Weight Loss Journey - SSS  stats-sucess-struggles?  I just woke up...sorry.

I'd just like to meet people....read about what they are doing for weight loss.....how they are doing on their journey....tips....ideas....

I was on the "summer-weight-loss..." link and noticed that it was ending, I was going to sign up, but my...as well as many others may have longer term goals...nothing wrong with short term goals.

I just thought a 6 month challenge with weekly stats would be good.

I still may join your challenge

We have a challenge in progress already, which you are free to join, if you like.  It started as a summer weight loss challenge, but I think we will keep it going for a while longer.  We will end it in a couple of months and start another.  Feel free to sign on with us.
