Can't lose weight!

I am a 19 year old female, am about 5' 4" and weigh about 145 pounds.  For the last 6 weeks, I have been working out at least 4 times a week, weight training all four days and sometimes more days of cardio. I have been doing interval training and a total of about an hour of cardio each day i work out.  I eat very well.  I do not snack and since I am away at school, I'm very busy and only eat one meal a day most of the time with maybe some fruit and a protein bar to get me through classes until dinner.  I have not lost a pound, and in fact, I feel and look bigger.  I am not overdoing the weight training, I only do 5 sets of 5 reps of each exercise using a very manageable weight.  The program I am currently on is called Visual Impact for Women.  I want very much to be 135 pounds, but right now I am shooting to get out of the 140s.  Please help me, I'm getting very discouraged and don't know what to do!

I agree that you probably aren't eating enough, or the right types of food.  Breakfast really IS the most important meal of the day, because it gives us fuel to go on.  You need so many calories/day just to survive and if you don't take in enough, your body will store everything you take in, as fat.

In addition, you should change up your exercise.  If you do the same thing day after day, your body gets used to it, and it's no longer a challenge.

You are still young and not fully developed yet, so it's very important that you eat properly in order to complete normal development.

Your not eating enough more likely then not by only eating only one big meal a day your putting your body into starvation mode and when you do eat that final big meal at the end of the day your body instantly stores all the fat and calories into your fat cells because it doesn't know when the next meal will be

I suggest that you try harder to make time in your day to sit down and have a proper meal, like with breakfast it only takes ten minuets to eat a bowl of cereal and a peace of fruit. Then the night before make a sandwich and get your lunch meal prepared so you can just grab it in the morning put it in your backpack and go.

I hope this helps all the exercise in the world wont help unless you can keep your body out of starvation mode. (fats harder to burn anyway also)
