No.all med's go in your Breast milk and you should be losing weight during breast feeding . Cut back Carb would be the best . Eat only 40 to 60 carb aday and you will be slim in no time. But remember your baby all was cames first.
I agree with grannieannie -- don't take phentermine while nursing........ in fact, I doubt seriously that you will even be able to find a reputable doctor who will prescribe it, since you are breastfeeding.
You say you are counting calories, so I have to ask what types of food you are eating. You need to eat foods that take longest to break down in the body -- lean protein, high fiber. The longer it takes your food to be digested, the longer you will fell full. If you're trying to live on salads only, it will never work.
You don't give any current information (weight/height) - it's possible you aren't eating enough calories for your current body size. It takes so many calories/day just to maintain body function (heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, metabolism, etc), and if you don't provide enough calories for the basics, your body will go into "starvation mode", in which it realizes that there's not enough food coming in, so it will preserve the fat that's already there.
You also don't mention exercise, which is a key factor in losing weight, and should go hand in hand with a proper diet. It's spring now, so, if it's still chilly in your neck of the woods, bundle up the baby, put her/him into the stroller and go for a walk - at least 30 minutes/day. If you're unlucky enough to live in an area still getting snow/ice/cold, you can use dvd's or check out the Exercise Channel on your local cable service; or download exercises for free from the internet. Walking and yoga are my favorite forms of exercise; both are great for weight loss.......
