Food measurements

Is there a way to adjust your measurements to units. Example adding an apple etc does it have to have ounces or grams?  If you don't have a scale how can you do this.

You don't necessarily need a scale to measure your food.  For instance, a medium apple is, approximately, 3" in diameter and contains 95 calories.

There are ways to gauge portion sizes that are not exact, but are pretty simple... Here's a link to one site that shows how to gauge serving sizes, but not calories:
