Losing weight

Hi everyone! I'm 21 years old and I weigh almost 400 pounds. I just started going to the gym a week ago, I also do home workout videos. I go to the gym everyday. I drink. Mostly water. I need help in the food part of it all. Now! I have been cutting back in the portions. I just need a friend and motivation.
All during high school I was by myself, due to the fact that everyone judged me. It was hard I let what people say effect me a great deal. But what's important Is that I'm trying now. That's all I can do.
So if anyone wants to give me tips, or a good music I can listen to while working out that would be good. Or just feel good quotes!

I have failed so many times. That is why I am still at 444. I try to watch my calorie intake and like you I drink alot of water. If you can handle sugar free drinks, water, vitamin water, the sugar free kool-aids you put in a plain bottle of water work well.

Hi there. I just started on this forum. So please bear with me. I have been overweight since a teenager. I to was an outcast and it was not easy. I have 4 kids now. 17, 15, 13 next month and a 2 1/2 year old. I did not plan my last one. I am now 444. I have just increased these past years. I had the lapband put in in 2006 and out in June 2011. No help for me. My 18 year Anniversary is today. I have seen a dietician in the past and started one again today. I got the "shakeweight" and I just get encouraged to use that and whatever else I can. So please keep in touch. You can't start out fast, because all you will do is fail. I learned now. My church, and husband as well as my kids are behind me. Take care.

Hi! I'm drinking herbalife mixshakes too, but only in breakfast, its a good way to reduce calories, but still has to do diet, eat a lot o proteins and ty to drink just water or green tea

Dear Fox; my daughter has almost the same problem- after we discover she had Pseudo-Tumor Crebri
and after we speak to her physician for a new diet, we started and she has been lost her weight quickly and healthy, so here I will share with you her diet, which she used to say Yackkkkkkk, LOL.
Breakfast: egg bitter the one that says no cholesterol - it comes in box such as milk or orange juice only smaller, instead to cook with any type of oil, just spray into the pan "PAM" you can use green and red peppers and some onions, it gives a better flavor. eat only a small portion no bread or any starch at all, ban the starch from your diet.
3 hours later you eat your lunch - green vegetables cooked or steamed with either a portion of fish or chicken breast boneless and skinless - cooked in the oven also a small portion, drink a lots of water in between meals - then for dinner used the same recipe that you used for lunch. if you want you can drink a hot green tea no sugar, for snacks you can have FAT FREE yogurt - it's not appealing however you will see the results fast, and of course exercise at least 3 times per week - beginners and after once a day. This diet drop my daughter from a 275 pounds to 171 as of now, and she has been doing for 6 months. Still in diet her goal according to doctors is to weight 120 pounds because she is 5'1''

Sometimes exercises seems to be the right thing to do however it might be the wrong exercise for you - the best thing to do is to dance or do the Zumba classes, it works - should you need more info contact us at the e-mail given herein.

Tbh I thought I wouldn't like herbalife but I have grown to Love it.
about the fruits I will keep that in mind thnx.
I usually only manage around 2 a day anyways haha xD

The problem with 5 servings of fruit is that fruit has a lot of sugar, even though it's natural. Best to eat 3 servings of non starchy veggies and 2 servings of fruit.

I'm not big on the Herbalife products or any other weight loss aids, because if you don't stick with them forever, you'll regain the weight as soon as you stop.

Fruits do not keep your blood sugar levels stable.  They are actually full of  sugar, which spikes blood sugar levels, then within a short period, the bottom drops out and you need more. If all that sugar isn't used right away, it goes to fat.

You should stick, more, with apples, pears and other high fiber fruits, which will keep you feeling fuller longer.

While you need the vitamins/minerals from fruits, you should concentrate on sticking with more high protein and fiber than anything else.

Hey there I find myself at an similar position as yourself. As I read u have stopped soda, if you have orange juice you should stop drinking that also as it has the same amount of sugar.
I know it sounds odd but it is ultimately sugar that makes you gain fat.
I have been on herbalife for a week now and feel great, with the products help I managed to cut it down my calorie intake to about 1400 cal a day while still getting all the vitamins and minerals along with atleats 100 grams protein a day. I weigh at 200 pounds atm with 27 percent body fat and BMI of 31. I will update you off when my next weight check I due. If you want to know more about the herbalife products please do let me know.
Keep me updated on how it is going for you.
Btw you really should push yourself to have that 3-5 fruits a day inbetween your meals they will keep.your blood sugar level steady  making sure your body does not enter ther starvation mode

We're all here to be friends and help in any way we can.

First thing to do is calculate your daily calorie needs and stay within that level.  

I'm not sure what types of food you eat, but make sure you get plenty of low fat protein, such as chicken, fish, lean beef/pork, dairy, eggs, beans/legumes, etc.  Eat at least 5 servings of fruits/vegetables every day.  Stick with none starchy veggies.  Apples, pears, etc are excellent for fruits because they have lots of filling fiber.  Opt for whole grain over white bread, pasta, rice, etc.

Don't drink sodas or put sugar in coffee, tea, etc. Eliminate junk and fast food from your diet.

It's a good idea to track your food intake.  MedHelp has a great food diary that's easy to us.

You might want to check with your doctor to get some simple blood tests to make sure you don't that hypothyroidism, insulin resistance or PCOS, all of which can cause weight gain and/or make losing next to impossible.
