Meal Replacement Shakes?

I was wondering if anybody has had success with meal replacement shakes?

I've been looking at the GNC lable "LEAN" and 2 scoops of the powder has 180 calories/2 grams of fat/30 carbs (8 grams of fiber, 5 souble) 4 sugars plus 9 grams of protein. I would make this shake with unsweetened almond milk for more flavor then water, plus ice.

I am thinking about starting this up on Monday 4/11. My plan would be 1 drink for breakfast, 1 light (maybe hard boiled egg or small fruit) snack (if needed) 1 drink for lunch, light snack (like Greek yogurt) and then a sensible dinner. I also plan to walk at least 20 minuets a day (hard to do more since I have to be at work by 8:30am and only have have half hour for lunch) plus 60 minuets on weekends.

But I don't know if I would be taking in enough calories. I added up just my breakfast/lunch/snacks and only come with 670 calories and with dinner maybe hit 1300? Would this be enough? I know all about if you don't eat enough calories, your body goes into starvation mode making you hold on to whatever fat is left and therefore not losing weight.

I've really struggled allot on this and with my Grandmother being so sick, the stress got to me. Unfortunately she passed away last month, and so now I'm trying to get back on track.

I'm looking to lose about 30-40lbs this year.

Thank you.

I use muscle milk powder 150 cals 16 proteins, I also add a seriving of metimucal to hit for more fiber cus I dont eat enough foods w/fiber, so its a 170 for the whole thing you can I only use water and it has great flavor and you can  always add fruits to it and blend it,   and I stay w/in 1200-1500 cals a day and I lose for the most part if I go above 1500 I gain, plus I work out 2-3 hours for 5-6 days a week.  Hope that helps good luck

Thanks hun! I take allot of different viatmins throughout the day. I take 2000mg cinnamon (great for eating less), 630mg green tea (great for the ECGC and helps with weight loss) and I do take the metimucal pills (2 a day does the trick...lol).

I just wanted to make sure that 1200-1500 calories would be good...so I'm thinking I'll go to GNC this weekend to look around and see what they have.
