Sunday Weigh In - January 1, 2012

Happy New Year to everyone!!  Wow, that's the first time I've typed "2012"; I wonder how many times I'll forget and slip back to 2011.......

Okay, here we are - it's Sunday weigh in time, start of a brand new year....... today's the day the new challenge begins; is everyone ready for it?

I'm ready, but I can tell that it's going to be a real challenge for me, because I'm back to retaining a lot of fluid again.  I'm not due to see  my doctor until Feb, but may have to call in sooner, since the medication I'm on doesn't seem to be working very well.  I think the swelling has to do with my hypothyroidism, but I'm not sure, and my endo refused an increase in thyroid medication.  

I've got a few things with my Auntie, on my plate for this week, but I don't plan to let them interfere.  

Anyway, I'm all set to go........ food portions will be cut back, exercise will be increased!!  Yep, that's it........

I'm starting at 149.6 pounds. My goal is to lose between 1 and 2 pounds this week.

Well I've been really good all week, not been particularly strict but I haven't felt tempted to secret-eat choc, crisps etc (which I was doing every day before Christmas), and I've lost 4lbs! Yay!

I hope everyone else has had a good week too. :-)

I've just started reading Winning the Fat War by Anne Diamond, which is very interesting reading so far. If you don't know already, Anne was a TV presenter in the 1990s and after having children gained weight. She had a gastric band fitted in Belgium on the cheap and basically they made a bad job of it. She had the op corrected in London and went on to get to a healthy weight through good diet and exercise (Anne says that gastric bands aren't a miracle cure, you still have to work hard to moderate your food intake). I'll share any top tips as I read the book.

Thanks Donna! I hope I can do it again... so far, I'm doing fine, not crash dieting or anything, just eating low fat meals with fruit for snacks.

Happy to see so many on board........ and wishing everyone the very best...... hoping we are all off to a good start......  I didn't weigh today, but yesterday, I was down nearly a pound from Sunday.......

I have a big problem with eating between meals, secret eating and bingeing. I was successful in losing about 98lbs about eight years ago, but it's all gradually crept back on.  I weighed myself on Sunday morning so its coincidental that it 's going to be my weigh-in day too.

Alright, my first weigh in of the year. I'm sitting at 211.9 lbs which is better than I would have anticipated. I bought a bunch of groceries today (all much better choices than I would have made a few months ago) and I am committed to eating eight and fitting in some exercise. This WILL be my year.

This is not a weigh in for me (yet) because my personal weigh in happens Tuesday mornings. So come tomorrow, I will be back with my 2012 "start" weight.

Hey! Lets DO it 2012!!

Haha. I'm still 154lbs. Will be starting a regimen of 3-4 days a week of exercise for 1:30-2hrs and want to do at least one class a week. I may try to do most of that over the weekend as it is a little stressful to do work, exercise, and get family time in but I am going to try and see how it goes.

I did a big shop for healthy food and have been using my smaller plates and following MrsAK's advise of putting my fork down between bites... also eating with my roommate so we chat while we eat and I no longer get that overfull feeling.

for the start of this new year i am 67.3 kgs, i have a goal of getting back to 55 kgs (about 110 pounds)
gain a pound over Christmas and new years, to much good food.
my goal is to try and exercise for at least 1 hour everyday and to only snack on fruit and vege, i also think its important for me to think about drinking more water.

good luck everyone hopefully 2012 is our year to finally reach our goals

I weight in this morning and can say I'm not disapointed. I'm 1.6 lbs down.
