Sunday Weigh In - Sep 26, 2010

Good Morning, everyone............ Here we are about to start another week, but first, let's recap last week and see where we all are in this journey called "Weight Loss".

I've done quite well, this past week and I'm rather proud of myself, so I hope you don't mind if I "crow" a bit; but I'll try not to get too sassy, because next week I might have to eat my words, since we all know that I keep losing and gaining the same pounds.

Well, anyway, I'm down by 2.4 lbs.  I will attribute that to several different things: first, I think I can honestly say that my new thyroid med is finally kicking in, as I have a lot more energy than I've had in a long time.  Secondly, I made every effort to choose my foods more wisely and on the day(s) that I did have to hit the fast food drive through, I "lightened" the choices as much as possible AND limited the amount(s) I ate.  Yesterday, I even went for the usual Saturday breakfast with my Aunt; I ended up only eating approximately 1/2 of what I ordered.  Yay, for me!!   Later in the day, hubby wanted to go to HIS favorite burger place --- I ordered the smallest burger they had, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, onion and grilled mushrooms; at the table, I removed everything from the bun and ate the meat and veggies with a fork.  The bun had soaked up the excess grease from the meat, so by not eating the bun, I probably eliminated a couple hundred calories from my meal.  Hubby and I shared an order of fries, but I only ate a very few.

Along with my "better eating", I have been extremely busy at work this past week and "on the go" constantly; then walking after work; yes, in addition to the physically demanding days I'm putting in at work.  My winter neighbors arrived on Wed and when she's here, we walk daily.  She will be gone this coming week, but I'm planning to get back on the treadmill, while she's gone.

I restocked the fridge/freezer with fresh/frozen veggies again yesterday, so I'm ready to begin a new week.

Okay, now, it's your turn.  How did you do?  If you were successful, to what do you attribute it?  If you had a set back, let us know if/how we can help.

Remember:  there are no failures; only set backs.

Sorry, I've been gone for a while with a horrible sinus infection that seems to not want to go away. I am finally starting to feel a bit better today, not a lot better, but at least a bit. I have missed walking with my daughter for a few weeks now and I can feel it. Thankfully when I weighed myself today I am still at 178 so its "ok" as far as my weight loss goals go.

Barb, I am glad to read that your meds are finally working! That is fantastic and even better that you are feeling more energy! So glad for you!

tigerlily, I hope you get the issues resolved soon. Dealing with "things" can be so draining.

Wow, only 0.8 lbs from your goal. Makes me jealous!!  But I'm so happy for you.

I do hope you get the "issues" worked out; I know it helps me to journal too, helps to make things make sense.

Barb135 - it sounds like you have found the right combo for success. Good for you! I'm glad your winter buddy is back too, that has to be a real treat.

I'm sorry I haven't been around the last couple of weeks. I have been checking in but not weighing in. I haven't weighed in for almost three weeks. I weighed in today at 125.8. 0.8 away from my goal. I have been working hard the past week and hope to continue.

I've have had a lot of things going on and have been going back and forth with myself for the last three weeks. It's weird how I can have all this inner turmoil with myself and go back and forth with myself about so many things, like I'm dealing with two people. I think it's been more weird because I haven't journaled all of my issues on a daily basis and worked them out (in black and white) like I usually do. Maybe this is why I was finding the need to eat more than usual while I was anxious. I always tell people, it never goes away, you just have to deal with it differently. Well, I'm still working on that part and probably will forever.

Anyway, I'm back and doing well. I'm looking forward to seeing you all and hope your all doing well.
