Good Morning, everyone............ Here we are about to start another week, but first, let's recap last week and see where we all are in this journey called "Weight Loss".
I've done quite well, this past week and I'm rather proud of myself, so I hope you don't mind if I "crow" a bit; but I'll try not to get too sassy, because next week I might have to eat my words, since we all know that I keep losing and gaining the same pounds.
Well, anyway, I'm down by 2.4 lbs. I will attribute that to several different things: first, I think I can honestly say that my new thyroid med is finally kicking in, as I have a lot more energy than I've had in a long time. Secondly, I made every effort to choose my foods more wisely and on the day(s) that I did have to hit the fast food drive through, I "lightened" the choices as much as possible AND limited the amount(s) I ate. Yesterday, I even went for the usual Saturday breakfast with my Aunt; I ended up only eating approximately 1/2 of what I ordered. Yay, for me!! Later in the day, hubby wanted to go to HIS favorite burger place --- I ordered the smallest burger they had, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickle, onion and grilled mushrooms; at the table, I removed everything from the bun and ate the meat and veggies with a fork. The bun had soaked up the excess grease from the meat, so by not eating the bun, I probably eliminated a couple hundred calories from my meal. Hubby and I shared an order of fries, but I only ate a very few.
Along with my "better eating", I have been extremely busy at work this past week and "on the go" constantly; then walking after work; yes, in addition to the physically demanding days I'm putting in at work. My winter neighbors arrived on Wed and when she's here, we walk daily. She will be gone this coming week, but I'm planning to get back on the treadmill, while she's gone.
I restocked the fridge/freezer with fresh/frozen veggies again yesterday, so I'm ready to begin a new week.
Okay, now, it's your turn. How did you do? If you were successful, to what do you attribute it? If you had a set back, let us know if/how we can help.
Remember: there are no failures; only set backs.
