Sunday Weigh-In January 27, 2019

Good morning everyone... how are things in your world, this morning?  It's raining here, so I guess it's going to be an "inside day" for me.  According to the weather person, the rain is supposed to hang on until sometime tomorrow, so I guess this will be a good time to start getting my house ready for my son and daughter-in-law's visit that's coming up in a couple of weeks.

There hasn't been a lot going on this week.  For once, aside from a couple of unpleasant e-mail encounters with my daughter, it's been quiet.  My husband's birthday was on Thursday and our neighbors, whose daughter, SIL and grandkids are visiting them, brought cake and ice cream for an impromptu surprise party, so that was really nice.  Not that I needed the cake and ice cream, but still nice... lol

I've been trying real hard to get/keep my diet under control.  I'm not eating all that much and keeping it relatively healthy.  In spite of that, I'm up by 0.6 lbs this morning from last week, even though over the week, I've been down by as much as 2 lbs.  I'm not sure what's going on.  Typically, when this happens, it's because of swellng/edema or my thyroid medication needs an adjustment, but I've been wearing special stockings to help eliminate the swelling (although I realize that fluid has to go somewhere!!) and I doubt very seriously that my doctor would change my med if I called him, so I won't waste my time.  I did slack off some of the supplements I'd been taking (proven deficiencies) that seem to help get better conversion of my thyroid med, so I'm trying to add those back in again and get back into the routine I was on when I was actually losing weight.

I have been walking with my neighbor every day... We do approximately 1.5 miles and it's possible that we need to change it up a bit, though she is a creature of habit and doesn't like to change things, even preferring to go the same direction, etc when we could easily reverse direction just for a change of scenery...lol   I can't really add time/distance to that walk because of the problems I have with my legs since they do get very tired quickly.  I'm hoping that once I have the procedures done in March, the tiredness will ease up, but that remains to be seen.  I do, often, go back out in the evening and add a shorter walk on my own - my distance, my pace, etc that's much easier on my feet (neuropathy) and legs.

Anyway, for now, I can see that I need to tighten up on my diet and do something different with exercise.  I keep saying I'm going to get back into my yoga, but still haven't done that - there's never a day like today, right??  I'll also get back on my supplements and get my deficiencies taken care of again and see if that helps...

In the meantime, I have to start preparing for my son and daughter-in-law's visit... This means clearing out the guest room, which becomes the "junk room", along with other cleaning that tends to "slide" a bit when it's just my husband and I here...

So - how about you?  How has your week been?  I hope you've been successful.  Let us know how things are going in your world, what's helping you and what's not.

~~Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful week~~

My son was ill last week, and apparently this week it's my turn. I've been in bed for a day, cough, hack, headache, sneeze. The only good part of it is that I haven't been hungry -- if you are going to spend a day without food, why not have it be the day before weigh-in? It seems to have worked, I'm down about a pound. Guess it is unlikely to last, though, once I get well.

I'm sorry to hear that your son has been sick, and now that you are too.  Losing weight due to illness is never a good thing... do be sure to drink plenty of liquids to make sure you don't become dehydrated and get well soon...
