Lol very true! I hope I'm I've done good on my weekly weigh in
A couple of drinks shouldn't completely derail your diet; neither should the sandwich; besides think about the exercise you got from the dancing.
We have to learn to be kind to ourselves. We wouldn't be nearly as hard on our friends as we are on ourselves.
Thanks you guys! Yesterday wasn't so good. My boyfriend and I ate at 12 (we were both super tired) and our plans for dinner kept messing up so I ended up eating a small peice of a sandwhich around 9 at a bar. Had a couple drinks (felt guilty cause I said I wasn't going to) then danced 5 songs after I got over being shy at a country bar. I felt like I didn't eat/drink a ton of calories but I'm usually wrong when I think that. I was suprised I wasn't super hungry between that time but I could tell I was getting grouchy. That and the fact I thought we were going to a restaurant so I could have soup for my sore throat and be good, not a bar. Haha
Weighing is fine, so long as it keeps you going. Just make sure you concentrate on how YOU feel about what you're doing and don't worry about other people begin proud of you.
Keep up the hard work sound like you are doing good
Barb: I weigh because when I see those numbers go down I get more motivated. It keeps me going. I've also started measuring myself and Ive lost inches which makes me happy. I started watching my calorie intake and exercising a lot. I'm usually lazy on the exercise part but I've been doing good at it.
LittleLilly: I do crunches and leg lifts and all those small workouts to get me started and then I get on a stationary bike. Whenever it gets too easy for me I crank the peddle toughness up but if 5 minutes has passed I crank it up anyways. I woke up early the other day before work and got interupted half way through my workout. So when I got home after work I made it up by doing an extra 40 minutes!
Indy: That's a really really good idea! I should just think of myself and work hard at my goal. And I love hiking so I'm hoping to get to do that soon! We can do this!
Thank you all so much!!
Kristina......boy do I hear ya girl!! This week has been a tough one for me to for personal reasons. I think you need to put all of your attention on yourself and what YOU need...just like I did. We are not trying to get healthy for anyone else but ourselves - we are what count. So, get your headphones on, some upbeat music and go for a good walk someplace peaceful like by a lake or ocean. Reflect, look at nature, breathe in the fresh air and be 100% you in that moment...only you, yourself and ...well YOU! Do cleansing breaths...slow inhale through nose 4 steps (your belly should round out) and exhale through mouth 2 steps (belly should flatten in towards spine)...in 4 and out 2...nice calm walking pace. You should feel a flush and tingle...body being oxygenated...good stuff.
I hope that helps!! We are all rooting for you....we are all here to get ourselves healthy and happy so you go girl! You...WE,, CAN do it!!
Indy
You did one week and that really good. I just start this week too. I know how hard it is. What are you doing for workouts? I'm doing the gym after work and then later at night my jazzercise classes. I hardest part for me is when I get home and there all the food I don't want to eat. I feel it better to plan out meals the night before. Also I write to myself how I'm going everyday and how I feel to see if I can keep this up. Good luck.
I'm happy to hear that you've done good this week. That's a step in the right direction.
If you're that stressed about weighing, why do it?
I think you should concentrate more on how YOU feel regarding your success, rather than worrying about other people being proud. You should take pride in your success.
What things are you doing to lose weight? What did you do good at, this week? Healthy diet? Exercise?
