Micronutrients?

When I survey the list of micro-nutrients that show up on my MedHelp chart, I noticed that I am at '0' for biotin, chloride, chromium, iodine, and molybdeum. Must I find sources of these in order to be balanced? Are they necessary? What foods have these? Or should I just find a multivitamin that has these in them?

Hi there -

Sorry we just now saw this post, or we would have responded earlier.

We know this causes confusion, and apologize for it, but some of our databases don't actually report some of these micronutrients. So although you are probably getting these micronutrients from some sources, it is not being recorded in the Food Diary. We have considered removing these micronutrients from the charts, but they are reported on some nutritional labels, especially those of multivitamins.

Please feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions or concerns.

Emily

Thank you for replying. I am wondering, though, why I am still not showing that I have the micro nutrients listed in my original question because I eat a huge amount of fresh and raw fruits and veggies daily and weekly: blueberries, strawberries, applesauce without sugar, apples, bananas, pineapples, oranges, kiwis, raisins, dates, peaches, pears, broccoli, green beans (my own from my garden), tomatoes (my own), peppers, peas, carrots, snow peas, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, spinach, turnip greens, kale, onions, yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, etc.  I am at fruit and vegetable eater!  I drink 2% milk, also. So, I don't understand why those micro nutrients mentioned before appear as zero on my graph. I will take your advice and go to my doctor and ask him about supplements.

Almost all fruits and vegetables are rich in micro nutrients and milk is one of the best source of micro nutrients. Going for multivitamins or health supplements is also an good idea but before taking those pills discuss with your doctor about it or have some natural health supplements as they are safe with no side effects or reverse reactions and wont cause any interactions.
