Losing weight

I am a 28 year old female and weigh 280 pounds. This is the heaviest that I have weighed in all my life. I gained about 100 pounds in the last 5 years, after the birth of my second child. my doctors are telling me that I NEED to lose weight. They recommended the Lap Band, but I cannot afford this so i am going to try and do this on my own.

I was wanting to know how many calories, fat, carbs, ect... I should eat to lose weight. I cannot exercise a whole lot do to a medical condition where I suffer from daily headaches and pressure in my head. Losing weight will actually help this condition. Besides my overall health, this is why it is so important that I lose weight.

I have lost weight in the past, but always seem to gain it back. I think that I was not eating enough calories. i was staying at about 1000 a day. I lost 70 pounds, but gained it all back plus a lot more. I have went up and down with my weight a lot in the last dew years.

What is the right amount of calories, fat, carbs for me? Should I monitor all 3 of them or just concentrate on calorie intake?

I don't recommend counting calories or specifically counting fat/carb grams.  It's honestly just too hard to do, and I tend to think that it doesn't teach us anything.  Much better to concentrate on small changes that you can live with.  As you mention, losing weight may help not only with your general health, but also make you have reduced risk for heart disease, cancer, and...the list goes on!
