Upper right chest pain after 10 min jogging!

Hi,

I am 28 going on 29 yrs and been jogging for over 2 months now. Where I live, is now hot and now mostly humid. I go jogging every other night to avoid the sun heat. After 10-15 min (yesterday was after 30 min)  of speed walking or light jogging, I get right upper chest pain. It feels slightly tight, with a sharp pain. So I slow down immediately, and after 2-5 min of slow walking I feel much better. Then I continue to speed walk/jog, and this time the pain doesn't come back again. I am thinking it might be the heat or the humidity causing me to feel short of breath and these chest pains. I remember however feeling the same when I used the treadmill indoors. I don't experience any pain when I do any other type of exercise indoors. What is going on?

Thank you for your time.

Cheers.

It's encouraging that you don't develop the same symptoms when you exert yourself in other situations, and that the symptoms didn't come back when you continued to jog.  I'm not sure what the cause might be.  Heart disease is uncommon in your age group.  Have you let your doctor know?

Hello and thank you for your prompt reply. No I haven't checked with my doctor about this. Do you think I should?

If you don't mind me asking, what causes or starts heart disease?

Thank you for your time.
