What is the safest liquid diet?

I want to go on a liquid diet. A lot of smoothies, blended and juices for 2 weeks just to start. I told my doctor about it and she just said to make sure I get enough protein and vitamins so my body isnt feeling starved. What types of food/juices should I include a lot of, or not much of?

I used this juice diet, sounds not nice but tastes quite good lol not sure if its the best & the only reason i stopped was cos it was getting a bit expensive & i got lazy!

¼ Cucumber; 1 stick of celery; ½ small pineapple, peeled and chopped; Handful of spinach leaves; ¼ lime, peeled; 4 golden Delicious apples, chopped; Flesh of ½ ripe avocado; Small hand full of ice

How to make:-
Juice the cucumber, celery, pineapple, spinach, lime and 3 1/2 apples. Place the avocado and remaining 1/2 apple in a blender, together with the juice mixture and ice. Give a good whiz for 45 seconds. Pour into a glass and serve.

There's some evidence to suggest that you might even more mileage out of your fruits and veggies if you eat them whole.  One of the tricks of weight loss is the concept of volumetrics.  Eating higher "volume" foods tends to lower the total number of calories per gram (similar concept to energy density), and therefore you are more full with fewer calories.  So, if you drink a healthy glass of pureed fruits and veggies, you're getting lots of nutrition, but in one glass of smoothie, rather than spread out in front of you as whole bananas, strawberries, celery, etc.

There is even some evidence to show that we burn calories by processing (i.e. digesting) our own food rather than having it processed in a blender or a factory.  So I would suggest that you start by gathering together your favorite fruits and eating them...whole.  Good luck!
