Resveratrol

Has anyone heard of or taken Resveratrol Ultra to help you lose weight?  If so, what do you think of it.  Dr. Oz says it works.  I'm thinking of giving it a try.

I too saw the Oprah show and Dr. Oz.  I purchased the brand he uses, biotiva, not cheap but other brands are not potent so you get what you pay for.  I've been on it just over a week.  I am trying to take off 20 lbs.  I've lost 40 lbs over last year on my own.  I'm very active, running cross country 4 miles, 3x a week,  lift weights 3x weeks and do another hour of cardio on the elliptical 3x a week.

So I've only been on resveratrol for just over a week. At first it increased my hunger in a huge way.  Apparently this is because it causes your cells to grow more mitochondria which  make fuel for the body in the form of ATP.  So my increased hunger was due to increased fuel burning.  I added 200 cal to my typical 1600 cal diet.  Nothing else changed in my diet or exercise routine.  I lost 2 lbs last week, which is alot for me.  I lost this while exercising the same amount yet eating more due to feeling starved. I also felt very emotionally balanced, calm, relaxed, happy, felt really good.

I also got a surge of energy on day 5 (like I could clean my whole house and yours top to bottom energy).  The next day I was so exhaused (and I didn't expend a ton of energy the previous day, I just felt like I could) that I actually had to take a nap during the day! That was yesterday, today is only day 8 of being on it and I feel like I did before I was on it. No longer have the energy, hunger is the normal diet type hunger we all get.

It's way too soon to tell if it's going to help me lose weight.  If I have more mitochondira and my burning rate increases I don't see why not.  So I'm going to keep taking it for a few months at least. It has all sorts of antioxidant properties as well so it's good for general health.

There's a forum on anti-aging site called immunist.com? or .org and they talk alot about it. Some there have been on it for years and feel it's not a miracle pill but indeed worth the benefits they see (smoother skin, better concentration, people have stopped taking their antidepressants, cured arthritis in some, cancer in dogs).

I also started my husband on it, he's on day 3, is overweight, does minimal cardio 3x week, has not felt any effects at all yet.
