A diet that works!!

Hi everyone, Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. I have gone through a divorce, almost lost my house, lost some of my furniture, lost my truck, and the one I was driving broke down. I have gone through a lot in 2010 but I figured it is 2011 a new year and a new start!!  I got a new job, saved my house, and I am slowly rebuilding everything I lost!! Anyway, through all the stress I gained weight and didnt' care...I had given up on everything. My mom joined this program called Slim 4 Life and I started watching her. She was eating it seemed like all day long but still loosing a lot of weight and it seemed quick!!!

I joined this program and I am so happy! I don't feel hungry all day long and I lost over 2lbs in the first week. I have never lost 2 lbs in a week without starving, and exercising several times a day. I lost it without exercising just eating right. This diet is all about eating protein! Lots of protein....

My day: For breakfast I eat one hard boiled egg one piece of 35 calorie toast and a protien shake.  I eat an apple at 9:30 or 10 and then for lunch I eat one turkey patty a cup of steamed broccoli and another piece of 35 calorie toast. At 2 I eat an orange. and since I get off at 5 and drive an hour home then have to cook dinner. I eat a protein bar at 5. I like the chocolate ones because it helps fight any chocolate craving.  For dinner I had one chicken breast grilled and a cup of salad mix without carrots or cheese with one tbsp fat free dressing. I drink 80 oz of water a day.

Now with the diet, I take Omega 3 fish oil 3 times a day, carb blockers twice a day, a multivitam, and they do have you take a appetite surpressent. I drink two thermogenic energy drinks a day...which helps fight the need for a caffiene drink!

I have heard people say they lost wieght without the supplements just following the diet. I do believe it works because I lost 4 oz from yesterday to today and I didnt' take the supplements yesterday.

Anyway, I am finally seeing success with a diet program and I am happy about it! I hope anyone out there that is frustrated and not seeing a success in weight loss, look this program up and join!!!

Thank you for your support...I will keep all of you informed as I go.

Well, hopefully, over the course of the diet, you will learn to eat properly and won't have issues, when you go off the supplements.

It does make me feel better that you talked to your doctor and that he will be monitoring you throughout the process.

I recall that you had some issues with Weight Watchers, so I really do hope this works for you.

Best of luck and I do hope you will keep us posted on your progress.

Thank you!

I showed my doctor the diet plan and supplements...he told me that he will watch me closely but believes it will be fine for me...

I like the one on one help you get when you go in to weigh in. I never got that with Weight Watchers so I love this program for that mainly. I do worry though that when I stop taking supplements it will come back...I will have to wait and see.

I'm very sorry to hear about your divorce and other issues, but happy to hear that you are finally finding some success, in your weight loss quest.

I've heard of the Slim 4 Life diet; researched it some, but because I don't like diets that depend on/advocate supplements, particularly, appetite suppressants or that center too much on one food group (in this case, protein), I don't feel they are right for me.  If a person can't stay on those suppressants/supplements or adhere to the diet, long term, chances of regaining the weight are very great.

In addition, I have health issues for which the thermogenic drinks could cause severe problems, since they can cause blood pressure and heart rate to rise abnormally, heart palpitations, etc.

I am very happy that you have found something that might help you along on your weight loss journey; however, I will, as always caution everyone to make sure they don't have health issues that might be made worse by a diet of this nature.  Always check with your doctor before starting a new weight loss program.

Congratulations, lonelymom
