I have set the challenge up on here in my support group - here is the link for you to join :)
http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Weight-Loss-Journeys/show/794
It has been suggested I dont do this challenge as there is a weekly one already underway and the fear is people will get confused! - so I am withdrawing from these boards - and the challenge is still ongoing - it was something I needed to do as I wanted a start date and a finsh date to push me on to see some results rather than just a weekly challenge which is ongoing on these boards....
If this post isnt deleted by the forum moderator.... and you want to join me - please feel free to email me and we will do it off the board.
I really like your idea :D I am game - how're we gonna do this? Like a competition style or..? I think this is a really good idea; not only will we get into a really good routine, but 40 days is a pretty close goal date for a few pounds to be shed :D Say the word and I'm there!
You are more than welcome not to join a challenge; in fact, with this one, there are currently 2 of them going on this forum.
It sounds like you pretty much have your routine down pat and your weight under control; however, some people have larger quantities of weight to lose and sometimes get discouraged with their journey. Some of us have medical issues which make losing weight difficult or impossible. Our purpose here is always to help and support each other.
We do the challenges for fun and encouragement. Basically, we are challenging ourselves to eat more healthy and/or get more exercise this week than we did the last week. No one is EVER required to join in and no one is EVER ridiculed or put down for not reaching a goal, since we all have setbacks.
If there is anything we can help you with, please feel free to ask.
I hope that my comment is not disappointing. I would never go for a weight loss challenge. I believe that grudual loss of weight through regular exercise is the best method to fitness and maintaining the desired weight. I have been jogging or running for the last 20 years and I have maintained more or less the same. The only time I gain weight is whenever I stop exercising for weeks. But once I go back to my exercise routine I do lose weight and regain my fitness. My dieting involves eating whatever food is in front of me but with great moderation. Good luck though in your challenge.
