Does juicing work?

I am obese 100 lbs overweight from just being lazy. Now I get winded when I walk, so exercise will be slow at first. My question is does juicing help with weight loss? It seems to be giving me more snap in my step, but will it last?

Yes, juice fasts are fantastic and so amazing for your health and body. Have you seen the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? Incredibly documentary (you can watch it on Netflix) and will tell you everything you need to know. Plus, Joe's website is incredibly helpful.
I did a week juice fast and it was amazing. I felt happier, more energetic and just overall BETTER at the end of it. It's amazing how much what you put in your body changes every aspect of you.

Juices don't contain certain essential nutrients, like protein and healthy fats. Protein is important in helping to maintain muscle mass as you drop pounds, while both protein and fat help give you a sense of fullness after a meal. All the pulp you see left over in the trash compartment of your juicer is the fiber your body is missing out on when you consume juices. Fiber also plays a role in making you feel full and combats bloating and constipation. Many juice-only diets are very low in calories, which stalls your metabolism, leads to fatigue, may result in headaches and dizziness, and makes you irritable. If you're able to stick to a juice fast for more than a few days, most of the weight you lose will be water and muscle not fat.

You can replace one meal or snack with a healthful green juice and successfully lose weight. At other meals, watch your portion sizes and stick to whole foods, namely lean proteins, fresh vegetables and fruits and whole grains, to help you drop pounds. By eating whole foods, you won't feel as if you're starving.

If you do juice to help your weight loss plan, realize that calories from juice can add up FAST! if you include a lot of fruit in your mix. The sugars in the fruit also spike your insulin levels, leading to energy swings and inhibiting weight loss. Some weight-loss juice plans are too low in calories, so you won't have the energy for exercise and daily chores that burn calories. You may not be consuming a lot of calories, but without ample daily activity, you aren't burning a lot either. You may not be creating a very large calorie deficit, and your weight loss slows down. And, if you get out of the habit of daily exercise, it's that much harder to add it back in once you return to eating regular food. The result may be a sudden return of any pounds lost. A weight-loss plan that creates a deficit through moderate calorie reduction and increased calorie burning with exercise is more sustainable for the long term.
Try the following
First you need to diet and do Cardio and strength training.
Do the The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between. Ideally you’ll be sprinting or cycling full throttle for 30 seconds with a 90 second cool down in between each outburst.

This is the fastest way to lose fat and build muscle in the body. Peak 8 actually stimulates the growth hormone in the body. I encourage you to visit Dr Mercola’s site to learn more about Peak 8 fitness because I personally feel that it is one of the best ways to exercise, especially considering the speed at which you can lose fat and build muscle.

I highly recommend you read this article and watch the videos on the page. It will give you all the information you need to know about Peak 8 – Flood Your Body With This “Youth Hormone” In Just 20 Minutes

What you eat after Peak 8 training does matter

It’s recommended that you do not eat sugar or carbohydrate for 2 hours after the Peak 8 exercise because these foods can impact the release of the growth hormone in the body. The links are

Figure your heart rate by this formula
The formula involves using your maximum heart rate (MHR) minus your age to come up with a target heart rate range (which is a percentage of your MHR). Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts.
Subtract your age from 220 the number left is your maximum heart rate.
you want to stay between 65% - 85% of your maximum heart rate
You burn 30 percent more fat from doing cardio after a weights session as opposed to cardio on its own.
I suggest going to a sports shop and buying a heart rate monitor and an
interval timer about $20. heart rate monitor about $30
Get the OK from your doctor first before doing any exercise or diet!!

Hi. I prefer eating an apple rather than juicing it. Making your own juice is preferable to buying juices. They're usually loaded with hi fructose corn syrup and other sugars.  It's good to read labels.
Whenever possible eat fresh. Raw vegetables or steamed. Fish especially Salmon is a good choice. Medhelp has some great contributors on the healthy cooking forum community. Check it out!  Maxy
