lol....ugh, wish I would have read this post a few minutes ago...lol I ate the whole bagel :-(
Today is my first day working out and stuff, so I am not expecting perfection immediatly, so I will just stick with half a bagel tomorrow. It is 10, and so far I have had a bagel, a yogurt, and a handful of almonds. I went to the gym and worked out for an hour, can't believe how out of shape I am! 20 minutes on the elliptical about killed me!
That's good - but make sure you stick with only 1/2 the bagel as they tend to have a lot of carbs, which could raise your blood sugar and when your blood sugar drops again, you could end up ravenous. That's what happens to me and it becomes a vicious cycle. I've been told that protein and fiber take longer to go through your system and make you feel full longer. That seems to be true for me. Sometimes a rolled up piece of ham or cheese is all it takes to take the edge off. I also eat a lot of apples. I get something sweet and crunchy without a lot of calories and it stays with me for quite a while. I'm still experimenting to find what works best for me and you will need to do that also..
Have you figured out your daily calorie needs? Make sure you know that, so you won't take in more calories than you expend.
Thanks for the suggestion! I am thinking of eating half a bagel once I get to work at 8, then something else when I get to the prosecutor's office at 10, then something for lunch around one, and then go home. I work 8-2.
A yogurt isn't very much for breakfast if you are going to work out for an hour. Remember you need to make sure your blood sugar stays fairly level to avoid becoming ravenous later on. Why not try the yogurt before the workout and something else light (like maybe a hard boiled egg or something) afterward to help you keep going till your next meal? Just make sure you eat enough to keep your body from thinking it's not going to get food or it will go into "starvation" mode, which will make weight loss very difficult.
I have to leave home for work at 5:00 am, so have gotten in the habit of eating a hard boiled egg about 4:30 am, then a sandwich (made with light bread) around 6:30-7:00 and usually something else (maybe some nuts or raw veggie) around 9:30, with lunch about 11:30. By eating frequent "mini" meals, I keep my blood sugar more steady which helps me eat less over the course of the day. Good luck.
