Help with weight loss

I am 50 years old and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia brought on by menopause.  I have gained weight and lost so much muscle.  I am so motivated to lose weight but nothing works.  I have turned to a vegan lifestyle, walk 2.5 miles a day, religiously count my calories, and drink at least 48 oz of water a day if not more.  I lost 1 pound in 2 weeks!!!  Can anyone relate to what I am going through and give me some helpful advice...please???

Hi. Did you get checked for diabetes?  I m 54 In menopause. Losing muscle to. Sugar is poison. Even for non diabetics.  Find out about that.  If you are, metformin is The usual 1st med they try. It can help with losing weight.  Train yoursejf to cut out all sugar.

Yes, I have encountered this with my fibro group more often than not.

According to Dr Lowe from the Fibromyalgia Research Institute, most Fibromyalgia patients are either hypothyroid or thyroid hormone resistant.

You really need to rule this out BUT please note that the preferred tests to get for accurate thyroid function are: Free T3,Free T4 and reverse T3.
Forgo the standard tests, since they only indicate serum thyroid hormone levels which does not  necessarily co-relate with  thyroid function!

Make sure your iron and B12 Methylocobalamin levels are not low, being vegan.

You may also need to up your protein intake, lower your carbs, eliminate sugars including artificial ones, do a wheat and gluten elimination trial and incorporate some strength training in your exercise program, besides walking.
