I cant run anymore. :(

So I had a HUGE tragedy on tuesday after my run. I went for the usual run, then when I came home, had so much energy so I decided to mow the grass. Ive never mowed with this mower but managed to do it. Afterwards, my white pearly shoes were GREEN. I took them off, bleached then through them in the wash like I had always done. After the washer was the dryer. When that was finished, they werent quite dry so I left them in there with the next load. Apparently one cycle in the dryer is fine but two will shrink the rubber soles. My shoes are now in pieces. :(

Hopefully I can get another pair this weekend. Now its to the exercise ball and squats for me. :(

Well, I guess the mom in ME came out too as I read your post because I was just sure you were going to say you sprained/broke something or cut your foot off with the mower.

Like twehner, I'm so relieved that your BODY is intact, even if your shoes aren't... I know you hate to lose your shoes, especially after you got them broke in so well AND shoes tend to get pretty spendy if you get good ones, but remember - shoes can be replaced easily - body parts are a bit more difficult...........

Good luck to you.  How 'bout giving ME that great attitude you have about exercising........lol

The funny thing is... I was doing some squats awhile ago (today) and my knees hurt pretty bad and they dont when I run. I didnt think I was going over my knees. Ill pay better attention this time and see what happens.

:D

Do enough lunges and squats and you WILL get a sore bum!  I promise.  Just watch that your knees don't go past your toes!  Those are the BEST butt and quad exercises out there....and better for your knees than running.

Push ups off the ball are super challenging, and doing tons of reps of crunches are good, too.  YOU HAVE A GREAT ATTITUDE.

I'm so sorry about your shoes.  I didn't mean to make light of it.  I was just relieved that you weren't hurt!!!!

Aww sorry to worry you, Thanks for caring. xoxo

Im so mad. I get blisters really easily and did with these shoes but after 2 months of running in them, they were good. Now they are gone. OH well.

I dont have weights but do have a resistance band :D

Thanks for the tips. Since I started running, the exercise ball feels like nothing! Not even worth doing compared to the awesome burn I feel in my legs. (I love the tingle I get afterwards)

Well Ill make the best of it!

You scared me!  I thought you were going to say you blew out your knee.  Then I thought you were going to say you cut off your foot with the lawn mower!  I can tell the MOM in me is "acting up".  So, HUGE relief that "it's just your shoes".  LOL

BUT, THAT *IS* A TRAGEDY!  We *do* get attached to our shoes.

I LOVE the exercise ball.  You can get SUCH a good exercise on there.  Besides being an excellent way to do crunches, you can roll out on it and do your push-ups and plank position.  Do you have hand weights?  If so, sit on the ball and lift the weights while also lifting one leg.  Do one set of, say, over-head shoulder presses.  Then, switch legs and do another set.  You will strengthen your CORE while working your shoulders!  It's great.  You can also do the same (alternating legs) while working bi-ceps.  It's just not that necessary to do much biceps work because "real life" works out biceps all the time.

After you do those squats, don't forget to throw in some lunges....

Good luck!  I'm glad your knees and feet are still attached!!!!!!!!!
